Artist Statement
I’m interested in the tension between truth and myth and how this tension manifests in our actions, desires, attitudes, identities, norms, institutions and beliefs. My body of work is typically installation-based, with an emphasis on photography, video, text, and performance.
Biography
Mark Daybell is a visual artist working and living in Los Angeles‚ California. He graduated from California State University‚ Fullerton with an MFA in Creative Photography. Some of his faculty advisors include: Eileen Cowin‚ Darryl Curran‚ Mark Alice Durant‚ Todd Gray‚ Joseph Santarromana and Kim Abeles. He is currently Department Chair of the Graphic and Multimedia Design Department at College of the Canyons in Valencia‚ California.
